On the second day of debate was an investigation of sustainable energy within rural areas. The delegate of republic of Indonesia urged the developed countries to fund research towards improving certain renewable energy sources to make them more cost effective and efficient by calling help to initiate new student led projects or finding cheaper and effective ways to produce more effective electricity production especially solar and tidal. However the delegate is also aware that not every form of renewable energy is commercially viable therefore it will be more expensive in certain areas. In order to solve this the delegate further calls upon the government to subsidize it, making it cheaper and more affordable. Not only the government itself, but also LEDCs can give at least minimum effort, such as funds. The delegate also mentioned the importance of education – to increase the student’s motivation. Along with the delegate of republic of Indonesia, the delegate of Nigeria urged the nation to vote ‘for’ the resolution because it delivers practicable methods to resolve the issue on energy sustainability. The delegate of Brazil supported the delegate of Nigeria by arguing that the education on students is important as they will be aware of the issue in depth that they may help the society in the long-run. On the other hand, the delegate of United States believe that these nations are not able to finance enough funds to the countries needed for the energy sustainability. During the speech, the countries such as Myanmar and republic of Indonesia critically attacked the delegate of United States for discouraging countries to provide funds. The delegate of Antigua and Barbuda was also concerned about the countries such as South Africa where huge amount of funds are needed.
